The got root? t-shirt is one of my oldest nerd/geek related t-shirts, so, naturally people have been asking me what it means for the longest (ahh, the memories). Anyway, root is the all-powerful, god-like, super-user account on a *nix (Linux
...). It is like administrator is on a Windows 2000 machine. Asking got root asks two questions really, "do you use linux?" and "do you have root on the machine you use?" Whenever you are logged in as root you have power to do whatever the hell you want, which is why it can be dangerous. If you don't know what your doing you can fsck up a computer real bad, a reason why people don't use root for everyday tasks, that would be stupid.
